Is there a minimum quantity to order?
Currently, there is no minimum quantity requirement for fabric orders. However, this policy may be subject to change in the future. We will provide clear communication regarding any updates or changes to our minimum quantity requirements, should they occur.

What happens once I purchase the fabrics on your platform?
Once you have made a purchase on our platform, you will receive a confirmation email that recaps the details of your order. Our team will then reach out to you promptly to confirm the order details, collect payment (if not already processed through the platform), and make arrangements for shipping. Please note that as the buyer, you are responsible for covering the costs associated with shipping.

Where can I find the details of my order/update my persona details?
To access the details of your order, you can log in to your personal page on our website, which can be found at [link]. On your personal page, you will be able to view and manage your order details, including your shipping address and other relevant information. Our team is always available to assist you with any questions or concerns related to your order.

Do prices include VAT?
The prices listed on our website are exclusive of any applicable Value Added Tax (VAT). VAT, if applicable, will be added to your final invoice once we contact you to finalise your order based on the prevailing tax regulations in your region.

Which payment methods does the materialist accept?
Currently, we accept bank transfers through our website. After placing your order, our team will contact you to finalise the sale and arrange the best payment option available to suit your needs.

Where do your fabrics come from?
We source our fabrics from a variety of reputable suppliers, including brands, manufacturers, and designers based in the UK.

Do you sell new fabrics?
No, we do not sell new fabrics. Our platform exclusively offers second-life surplus or deadstock fabrics. We are committed to reducing waste in the fashion industry by providing a marketplace for existing fabrics, minimising the production of new materials.

Can I receive a swatch, or sample, of the fabric?
We understand the importance of getting a feel for the fabric before making a purchase decision. While fabric reservation is not yet available on our website, we do work with many suppliers who will be happy to provide you with fabric samples. Simply contact us with the product codes of the fabrics you are interested in, and we will be happy to inquire on your behalf with our suppliers and arrange for swatches to be shipped to you, if available for the specific fabric. Can I reserve fabrics?
Although fabric reservation is not currently available on our website, we work with various sellers who may be happy to offer reservation options for fabrics with either a variable time frame or a nominal fee. Please get in touch with us, and we will be happy to inquire on your behalf with our suppliers to check for availability of such arrangements.

How can I have more information on a specific fabric?
To obtain more information about a specific fabric, you can refer to the product page on our platform. Each fabric has its own dedicated page with details such as technical information (quantity available, width, composition, care instructions, and main material) as well as qualitative information (softness, stretch, draping, special features, and uses). Please note that due to the surplus or deadstock nature of the materials, not all technical information may be available for every fabric. Can I change the details of my order after placing it?
We understand that sometimes changes may be needed after placing an order. Once you place an order on our platform, we will contact you to confirm all the details. However, please note that once we receive your payment, the sale will be considered final and your order will be cut and prepared for shipping accordingly. If you have any questions or need to make changes to your order, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@thematerialist.co, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

What is your return policy?
All fabrics are cut to your specifications, which means that orders are non-refundable once the fabric has been cut. This policy is in compliance with the Consumer Rights Directive (Distance Selling) and does not affect your statutory rights. What do I do if I am unhappy with my purchase?
Due to the unique nature of our fabrics, there may be slight markings and/or imperfections. Rest assured that all fabrics are individually inspected by our suppliers before shipment. Where do you ship?
We ship globally. As collection and shipping are the responsibilities of our clients, we're happy to arrange shipping from any country to meet your needs.
