Is there a minimum quantity to order?
Yes, our minimum quantity is 10m per fabric.
How can I buy fabrics on the materialist?
Where can I find details of my order/update my personal details?
You can log in to your personal profile section and you will be able to view your order details, including your shipping address and manage your contact information.
Do prices include VAT?
All prices listed on our website are exclusive of any Value Added Tax (VAT).
For fabrics purchased from our suppliers based outside of the UK, you will be charged import tax when your goods arrive into the UK.
Which payment methods does the materialist accept?
We accept payment via bank transfer. Once we have confirmed your fabric availability, you will receive a pro-forma invoice with our bank details. You will then have 24 hours to process payment. Once your proof of payment is received, we will prepare your order. Please note, if a proof of payment is not received within 24 hours, your order will be cancelled.
Where do your fabrics come from?
We source our fabrics from a variety of suppliers, including brands, manufacturers, and designers based in the UK and Europe.
Do you sell new fabrics?
No, the materialist exclusively trades deadstock fabrics.
Can I receive a swatch of the fabric?
Yes, you can order a swatch of any fabric listed on our website. Please email hello@thematerialist.co with your request.
Can I reserve fabrics?
Please get in touch to discuss fabric reservation options.
What is your return policy?
Once we receive your payment, the sale will be considered final, and your fabric will be cut and prepared for shipping. Orders are non-refundable once fabric has been cut so please ensure you check details on the pro-forma invoice before processing payment. This policy is in compliance with the Consumer Rights Directive (Distance Selling) and does not affect your statutory rights. If you have any concerns or issues with your purchase, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at hello@thematerialist.co.
What do I do if I am unhappy with my purchase?
All fabrics are inspected by our suppliers before shipment, however due to the unique nature of our fabrics, there may be slight imperfections. If you are unhappy with the quality or condition of your purchase, please contact us at hello@thematerialist.co with photo evidence.

What shipping methods are available?
When placing your order, you will be given two choices for shipping:
If you select to collect your order, we will email you the pick-up address and package dimensions/weight once ready;
If you select delivery of your order, we will ship your package to your delivery address and send you tracking information once the package is dispatched.
